ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Joan Becker Cope currently resides in
Richmond, Virginia and in Nags Head, North
Carolina.

Ms. Cope's work has been exhibited and sold
in affluent galleries in both Nags Head, North
Carolina and Key West, Florida.

Joan has switched her focus to writing and
illustrating books about Pekingese, including
the popular children's series "Punkie the
Pekingese" (see additional information
below).

Currently, Ms. Cope is undergoing a major
project for her next book, "For the Love of a
Pekingese", a composition of illustrations
and endearments that are sure to please.

In addition, Joan gives private art lessons to
children and dog lovers of all ages.

PUNKIE AND THE HORSE PIRATES AND
OTHER "TAILS"

Punkie and the Horse Pirates and Other
"Tails" is the third book in the series that
Joan Becker Cope has written and
illustrated. It is a collection of short stories
that features pirates, a hurricane, and also
ocean adventure. It has 25 full page
illustrations. Not only do children enjoy the
book but it also makes a nice collectable for
dog lovers especially those fond of
Pekingese. The book contains a bonus
section which tells about Joan's Pekingese
Qui Qui (pronounced Cho Cho), and shows
several of his paw paintings.

fanciers. It is suitable for children from around 4 to 10 years of age as well as
adult "children". It contains 24 illustrations.

They are fun to read at any time of the year, as well as during
